The AHWA Critique Group was established in October 2008.
It exists predominantly to allow members to submit short story drafts (although focused on horror, other genres will be considered) and have their work critiqued by a range of their peers. It is an invaluable tool for new members to get comfortable with the critique process and pick up critiquing skills themselves.
Since its inception, numerous members have gone on to have their stories publishedd in a range of zines, magazines and anthologies, in Australia and overseas.
Some of the AHWA members who have enjoyed the benefits of membership of the Critique Group during it’s almost decade long existence are:
Amanda J Spedding
Andrew J McKiernan
Many of our alumni have gone on to find publishing success in the longer format novel genre.
Praise for the Critique Group from AHWA members:
“… a godsend. I learn something new with every critique I send or receive.”
Christopher Green, 2009 Aurealis Award finalist
“…being part of this crit group has delivered insightful and constructive advice.”
Juliet Bathory, Andromeda Spaceways Publishing Cooperative
