AHWA Mentor Program returns

The Executive Committee of the Australasian Horror Writers Association (‘AHWA’) are excited to announce the highly anticipated return of the AHWA Mentorship Program in 2017.

After a short hiatus, the Mentor Program returns to the AHWA and brings with it a raft of changes, along with a list of mentors who is truly a who’s who of Australasian Horror.

With multi-award winners and nominees stepping up as part of the return of the AHWA Mentorship Program looking to offer intense development for new writers over a short period. Over three short sharp months, our mentors will work with the selected mentees offering one-on-one guidance and advice on developing that person’s writing, art or editing style.

Lee Murray, Alan Baxter, Kaaron Warren, Deborah Sheldon, Greg Chapman and Charles Lovecraft have all taken the opportunity to put their hands up as mentors during the return of this program. While for the first time ever Shane Jiraiya Cummings has announced he will offer two c-editor mentorships covering Issue 12 and Issue 13 of the highly anticipated return of Midnight Echo Magazine.

The mentor program is only open to paid-up members of the association with the overall cost being $175.

“Louise Zedda-Sampson [Mentor Program Coordinator] has done a fantastic job to bring this program back and take it to the next level,” AHWA President Brendon Meynell said.

“There have been many late nights, and a lot of work coming up with the guidelines, application forms, and organizing all of the fantastic mentors to give up their time for this cause.”

“Without Louise there would no doubt be no mentor program.”
